Addicted to Celebrities?

So do we love these Superstars lives to much? Are we addicted to them? We all need soemone to look up to that makes us feel unique and alike. But now that the role models we look up to are a warped view upon reality, it makes us want to be more like them. To be "beyond" beautiful. But what if we get to obsess with the celebrities? What will happen?... Kids will grow up thinking that to make a career in the future, they will have to look beyond beautiful. Meaning a perfect body figure (small waist, thin stomach, legs and arms, and big boobs). Teenagers will grow up with eating disorders because they want to look like the celebrities they see in magazines. Teenagers will dress inappropriate due to the fact that most of their role models are shown wearing skimpy outfits or no clothing. Is this how we want our generation of children to think and act?

How Role Models Have Changed Over The Years

We can all form an opinion on what we believe it takes in our society these days to become famous, a ‘SUPERSTAR’ ..some may call them. However everyone can agree that our perspective on what makes someone a role model, and famous has completely changed over the years. If you research the people that were the main public figures years ago, you will see that most of these people were in politics, women and men who made a significant difference in our society. These days who are the people in the public eye, Paris Hilton? Do we really find it appropriate to look up to some of the people who are labeled as ‘superstars’? We have all labeled, in our minds what we believe gets a person ahead in their career, does this not say something about how out perspective on the world has changed over the years? We have children these days looking up to men and woman who are not realistic examples, somewhere between sex tapes and photo retouching our view upon people in the public eye has changed. We have so many aspects of our lives that change overtime, but we can decide who we want our ‘superstars’ to be, it’s simple. Magazines earn their money from us, the consumers buying their products, and what do they have in these magazines? Gossip, pictures of partially naked people, and a warped view upon reality. If we decide it’s not okay to look up to these people all we have to do is stop encouraging them and not buy into it. We can decide if we want our kids to look up to half naked stars, or people in politics. But do we love these ‘superstars’ lives too much? Are we addicted to them?

How To Become A SuperStar

These days in our society, it takes much hard work to become a **SUPERSTAR**. These tasks may include:
1)boob job
2)bleach blonde hair
3)blue eyes
4)talent (not necessary)
5)very attractive significant other
6)perfect body (bones must be showing)
7)sex tape?

Although our previous points were said in a humourous way, some may argue these points do come in play with many of our stars today. Examples such as; Pamela Anderson, Brittany Spears, Nicole Riche, and the unforgettable Paris Hilton got ahead in their career by using what god (or plastic surgeons) gave them. Many of our stars today possess a large amount of talent, however in the society we're living in today the way you appear can sometimes tower over a persons true talent (sex sells)
